My mac will not connect to the internet?

I downloaded an update about a week ago and have not been able to connect to the internet since. I Have tried several things to get it working again but it still will not work. My Macbook pro has a connection but when i open safari or firefox they will not bring up any webpages. I have run diagnostics and it says my connection is fine. Every other device in my house, (Ipod, Xbox, PC) all work fine. Any help would be great thank you ahead of time.

How should a teenage girl meet guys when she goes to an all girls school?

15th birthday party ideas?

So my birthday is in early May and I live in San Francisco. I want this [arty to be unique.. not just a dinner party or a swim party or especially not a bowling party. Please nothing to expensive, and what my idea was is to have a big party, and then maybe hang out downtown with them and then have girls go home and rent a hotel room for my friends(or maybe just go to my house for a sleepover). (and hotels cost a lot +food) so the bigger party can't be to expensive. And keep in my transportation, cause i can only fit 8 people in two cars not including my parents so it cant be to far from the hotel.

Is there a poltergeist in my house?

Hey guys, so i'm a 15 year old female. (turning 16) And, for the longest time i've believed my house was haunted.. i'd hear things, and not only hear, but see.. Such as i witnessed a candle stick fly across the room once, when one of my other friends were living with us at one point. (Reason i mention that is because i heard poltergeists feed off of energy, and she was a very troubled person) Anyhow, so i was out of the house for 2 weeks. I came back last night, my mom said NOTHING happened when i was gone. Last night i went to bed, and i had the feeling i was being watched, i seen a Shadow go by the hall and my rabbit freaked right out, he was stomping and throwing things ALL night. I could NOT sleep. Anyhow this morning my mom wakes me, and she's like.. "wanna hear something freaky?" So she tells me that last night she heard a woman's voice, so she assumed it was her phone and pressed end. Then all of a sudden her phone rings and she answers it, and it's 911 saying that she called them, she didn't say anything, she just dialed it.. For my moms phone there are many steps to call someone she would have had to press 7 buttons in total.. So i was a bit freaked out, and my mom also said she felt like she was being watched, and she felt as if someone was standing right around the corner constantly.. So when my mom told me this and she left i had a bit of an anxiety attack then all of a sudden, my motion censored alarm clock beeps.. For this thing to beep, you have to wave your hand directly over it. When it beeped i turned around, and nothing was around it. What do you guys think?

I already knew this and I'm barely heading off to high school. I'm going to this fall though and all I can say is I'm not looking forward to it. Though I love learning and all, it's just the people that bother me. Being in environment that is always going to judge you and talk about you behind your back is not very charming at all. IPod not in my computer?

Basically, my computer crashed recently and Im trying to retrieve my music from my iPod touch. Whilst browsing the web for a solution to this, I came accross a video on youtube telling me what to do, however one of the steps is to open my computer, and you should see your iPod in the devices section. The issue I have is that my ipod is Not in the devices section and I cant seem to find it. My ipod IS however in the scanner's and cameras section, however that only contains a couple of photos from my ipod so i doubt that that is it. Can anyone help me??? :)

Jensen Jims 211-i HELP!?

My Jensen Jims 211-i ihome isn't working. The device is plugged in at the wall outlet (which works just fine I have other items plugged into it) and it is also plugged in at the auxiliary outlet in the back. It acts like it's off when it's plugged in. If I press the auxiliary plug harder into the outlet the lights show up and it works. Or when I spin the auxiliary plug a certain way it works too. I honestly don't know how to fix it. Does anybody??? It was a gift, it's only a year old. It worked yesterday morning. It has fresh batteries in it................................:(

I just bought the Avid M-Audio Fast Track USB interface to do home recording, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth keeping or trading it in for one that suits my needs better. I plan on only recording vocals, acoustic guitar and keyboard. Now, the only interface in stock only had 3 slots - one for a microphone, one for a guitar, and one for headphones. Since my keyboard has a 1/4 inch output jack the exact same as my guitar, can I use this device and jack to record with my keyboard, or do I need a completely different device?

Xbox doesn't recognize new (official) HDD after big screw up?

So basically, I tried to transfer my data from a 60GB HDD to a 120GB HDD. I already have a transfer cable(lost the CD) so what I did was I put the 60GB one in my xbox, and the 120GB one in my transfer cable to my xbox. The xbox asked me to configure the new device and I agreed. Then a clean data transfer followed and I thought it was done. But what turn out is that my xbox actually configured my 120GB HDD to a 16GB external HDD! When I plug the 120GB HDD in on the top, it won't recognize it. Can I fix this or should i contact microsoft?

Which is better Oil paint or Acrylic paint?

Personally for me, it is much easier to create realistic paintings with oil. Oil dry longer and mix better, so you can work with it longer, mix it, and add new shades right on your canvas until you are satisfied with the result. Although I prefer expressionism.

just last night I had a dream I killed someone. it was one of the most horrible dream I ever had. In my dream, I was in my room and I think I was home alone. While I was in my room I started hearing noises like someone was trying to break in my house. I stepped out of my room to check who it was. I didn't see anyone. so I went back to my room. Again, I start hearing noises, I get up and go check, it turned out that someone did break into my house. Right when I get out of my room I see an African American woman walking around my house. Unfortunately, I live beneath a very inconsiderate neighbor with two yappy little dogs who constantly run up and down the hardwood floors. She stomps, the dogs run, her guests are loud in the hallway, and the washing machine runs nearly constantly. Her dirty HVAC was leaking into my closet, but she couldn't be bothered to answer the door so I could tell her. Since she will not answer the door and goes out of her way to ignore me in the common areas, I've had to take my complaints to the HOA, who has shared them with the landlord. Apparently, she is a less than desirable renter. I was informed by the neighborhood manager that the landlord was taking steps to evict her. This was well over a month ago and there are no signs of her leaving. I'm not sure if she may have worked something out with the landlord, but should I give up hope after this length of time?

Need help snagging Entei. How do you do the secure ball trick? When do I press B?

Ok, I have snagged Entei in a regular Poke Ball many times. The only problem is that last time when it was successful, it turned out to be a Lax Natured Entei and had 154 Hit Points. I was mad because I wanted it to be Brave Natured. I weakened it and everything. I even had Typhlosion lower accuracy on it and Skiploom lower speed, use Sleep Powder and Mega Drain to further weaken it down and it still breaks out and then if I wait too long to snag it, it uses Shadow Rush on one of my Pokemon to faint itself. The problem is I may need another strategy, but how? Camerupt is always out when Marshtomp faints and the Pokemon that is using the Surf move is usually slow and is holding Quick Claw; her name is Quagsire. Surf hits both Pokemon after Jumpluff uses Mega Drain on Marshtomp a Water and Ground type like Quagsire to faint him and I try my best to get Entei to use moves other than Shadow Rush or Fire Blast. So far he has only used those 2 and Entei also has Bite which would happen if I sent out my Espeon and Stomp which he rarely uses on me. I tried a load of button combinations and they didn't work this time. Including pressing B right when the Snag Ball was about to open.

There is a pesky driver, which is prohibiting me from using my gamepad. I can't uninstall it through device manager, but device manager does tell me what the file is for it. Life is full of this. Even if you had a job in an office full of other people you will see small "cliques" just like in HS. Older women like hens picking on you ..... so you need to develop a tough skin and learn that in life there are mean people out there. It's not a perfect world and it would be nice if we all got along. Forget trying to establish a loving long lasting relationship in your early years, even early 20's. That is time to focus on YOU in life and getting yourself established with a job or career. Men will tend to be players during this time and if you wake up to that now....it will help you alot.

On sunday night my partner was fighting with a guy that resulted in the guy poking him (my partner) in the eyes! Terribly sad and devastating, but extremely well written. Your vocabulary is phenomenal as well as your writing style. The voice could use some work though. It seemed very informative. A great base off the Hunger Games. I truly felt it could have been a side story in the novels. All in all, it was fantastically tragic. Brrravvvo! :)

What kind of grades would I need to get into a top art university?

They want you to have a good general education but the important thing is your portfolio. GCSEs tend not to matter so much, but the only reason art unis list them as requirements is because there are a lot of different ways to get onto an art course, so it's their way of checking that you are smart enough in general. If you do A levels you will normally need to do a foundation course for another year after that too before you go to uni, or you can skip A levels and do an AVCE or something like that, so there are options. And to get onto any of those courses you need the right GCSEs, so if you complete that course then the uni will care about that more than your specific GCSE grades. And if you do A levels they won't look at GCSEs at all, so do your best but really don't worry about it.

Is it illegal to video record someone without there knowledge?

Just wondering because I bought a device, just for fun, I can wear it and what it is is a disguised video recorder with sound. From what I understand, people are recorded all the time and banks, stores, ect. so it seems like it would be ok. From what I understand, it's only not ok if it is sold or somehow broadcasted without the persons permission. Is this incorrect? Kaspersky 2011 blocked the internet?

I use win 7 and yesterday the kaspersky 2011 blocked my internet. I could neither open the IE nor Google Chrome to get into the internet. However, I could use some devices such as yahoo messenger and skype. Kaspersky asks me to pay for its version 2012 and I probably buy a new laptop in the near future so I think I'm not going to spend money for the 2012 version. What happened with my lap? IChat not letting me join multi-person video chats?

my ichat only lets me join single person video chats. whenever i open my network status on the connection doctor it always says the port is restricted and that the computer's network setup includes one or more devices that are not fully compatible with audio and video chatting. It says its because of slow connection, but my internet has always been very high speed and everything else on my computer that uses internet works at just the same speed. the server is slogin.oscar.aol.com, the port is 5190 and require SSL is checked. i have restarted my modem (linksys), restarted my computer (macbook pro, ichat version 5.0.3), and switched the port to 430, but nothing works. what should i do?

Should I get an iPhone for Israel?

I am moving from the US to Israel for a while, and need a way to call both places from there. Last time I had a cell phone that called both, but this time I was thinking an iPhone might work. I figure since there's Internet, Skype can work for international calls, and a sim card can work for within Israel. I've heard that is complicated though, because I'd need to get it "unlocked". So am I better off getting an iPod touch to use for Skype, and getting a separate phone for use there? Or is Internet there also really expensive if the phone is from here? I beat up my friend so what will happen?

I was at my friends house and he owns a cat. I was just sitting on his couch and and then when he left i stomped my foot and accidentally did it on his cats tail so the cat immediately jumped on the couch and scratched my face. It was clinging to my face so i grabbed it's tail and it got madder so i pulled the thing off and i slammed it to the ground and kicked it. Try horse riding, It could appeal to your slightly more adventurous side and isn't competitive at all (Unless you want to take part in competitions which you don't have to.) you ski as well then you'll already have the basis for strong legs which is needed and so you probably won't find it too strenuous either and it isn't really a conventional sport. It also incorporates your love for animals because as you ride you build up a relationship with horses etc :)

i just installed a new o.s and had to reinstall samsung pc studio 7, i have a samsung i8910 hd handset, after the program has installed, all drivers install apart from my gsm modem driver, windows cant find it even though its in the folder? When i launch connect to the internet, it says "no modem found" however it brings up a windows driver wizard saying "your unknown device needs a driver to work" i click on browse computer and go to, computer,hard drive, program files x86, samsung pc studio, and it just brings up the folders within that folder - but, the driver for my modem isnt in a folder on its own, its in the samsung pc studio x86 folder but fails to see it, if i click on, start, computer, hard drive, program files x86, samsung pc studio, theres a driver file half way down called "modem.dll" so it is there? Plus the driver wizard doesnt allow me to view all files and folders, its only folders it detects, i have tried putting the driver in a folder on my desktop, it still doesnt pick it up. Im running windows vista ultimate 64bit, it worked perfectly on my windows 7 laptop, whats going on?

How can I be safe to protect against nerve damage when I use my TENs unit?

My doctor gave me a TENs unit to take a away my pain two months ago, and recently he advised due to the progressive and degenerative nature of the disease I have (mitochondrial disease, it affects my muscles) to use the device as a way to build muscle and excercise. For this past week since I've used it every day on my legs (top and bottom), my hips, and my back for thirty minutes. I've noticed instantaneous improvement. One time he held the door for me and I thought, "That's weird." Then he tried to close it on me real fast I jumped through but my arm got in the way and it shut on it. It hurt. On my birthday when i turned fifteen He didn't tell me happy birthday. then maybe a month passed and I guess intentionally i was playing hard to get and he stopped looking at me. Flashing line, computer will not boot.?

My computer will not fully start up because it always gets stuck on a flashing white line on the top left corner. I have been having issues with my video card recently (ati radeon 4850) where a red light will go on and my monitor will go black therefore making me have to hard reboot my computer. I do not know what this red light means so if someone could help me that we would be awesome as well. This line I was stuck on happened after one of the red light issues so I hard rebooted and that's where I'm stuck now. WHY-do you artiest what the reason?

I don't know. I did web programming for a little but to become a more well rounded developer, I picked up web design too. It's a living. I am pretty arty now, but not the artiest.

No sound from laptop?

HP Pavilion dv4-1275mx has no sound. I've plugged headphones in and that doesn't give me any sound either. I've checked the drivers for the sound in the device manager and they are fine. Just to make sure I've redownloaded the latest drivers and I get a message saying that the device is working. The computer is not on mute either. I've also gone into the Volume Mixer and everything is turned up, but still no sound. Not really sure what to check now. Thanks for the help!!

I'm 23 and my mom still wants to go on a road trip together?

In 2001 my grandfather passed away, in 2004 my dad passed away and in 2009 my grandmother passed away. Most of my family members live about 13 hours away and therefore, since most of the family here haves passed on, have no reason to visit. Instead they suggested we visit them. This had happened in the past, my dad would drive us out there when I was still a kid. Now I'm 23 and my mom wants me to go with her for easter. I offered to drive myself, but she said if she doesn't have anyone go with her, she won't go at all - she claims that she is uncomfortable driving the trip by herself as she my dad always did it. I guess I just feel slightly uncomfortable with the idea of being thrown back into this child-like situation arty 23. I'm usually the one to drive others around. I also offered to drive part of the way, but she refuses to let anyone else drive her car or to take my car. Can anyone offer advice on how to deal worth this? Am I being irrational?

Does superdrug wash in wash out hair dye really wash out ? 20 POINTS!?

Depends on the condition of your hair to start with, if it has been bleached or even sun lightened in areas, they will hold the colour longer, making it hard to wash out. You could just colour the ends of your hair for a dip dye effect, but then again this is the area of your hair that is most likely to hold a colour as it is older and more damaged/ sun bleached. Or you could try for a red streak effect by colouring random patches..

Is foot stomping good or bad?

Ive just taken on three shetland ponies. One is a 5 year old mare with a colt at foot, and the other is a seven year old stallion. I've been surprised at how nice the stallion is, he has bonded straight away and doesn't try to assert his authority. I've noticed however, that when I go over and pet him, he sometimes puts his head down and stomps his front left hoof. Could this be some sort of passive aggression, or is it a sign that he is enjoying the cuddle?! Also, he isn't completely broken. He is halter trained, and im trying to get him to respond to pressure (poking him in the shoulder til he moves). However when i apply pressure he gets annoyed at me and sticks his head into my belly. How should I deal with this behavior? Many thanks for advice.

Vista - Realtek LAN Driver disappears?

My computer is fairly new with Windows Vista. For the most part, it has been running ok so far on my computer. But when I try to install some windows updates for my Realtek RTL8168C(P)8111C(P) Family. The PCI-E GBE NIC (onboard) just disappears after a reboot or a shutdown. I also have tried disabling the power management and the driver still "disappeared" in Device Manager. Now,I can no longer connect to the Internet. Please help!

Help my neighbors are complaining?

They just moved in like a month ago. they live above us and their kids STOMP all day long. running up and down. we don't complain. one night my mom turned on her music it was only 8pm and it was playing for 30min. and they called the police, this was 2 weeks after they moved in. the cops came and left. the next day they let their kids stomp all day long, so we put our music on LOW. this is around 12p.m. ..our stereo speakers go up to 100. we had it on level 10! and they started complaining, stomping across the ceiling as if their signaling us to low it. we called management and had them come in our apartment and they said the music wasnt even loud, can we file a complaint against them for harassment. i mean, if they don't want to hear ANY NOISE at all then why move into an apartment complex? your gonna hear something..buy a house or a condo or something if you don't wanna hear noise through the walls.

Im playin perfect dark on my xbox 360 and you are supposed to beat the G5 building mission in 1 minute 40 seconds to unlock the cloaking device.Well this is impossible. I know about the spycam trick, but its still impossible. It takes me 1:40 to get past the guards. Ive tried it 195 times so far and my best time is 2:45 seconds. Tips? ARTY PEOPLE! HELP ME WITH ANALYSIS ON THIS PAINTING!!!!! *BEST ANSWER 10 POINTS*?

Hmmm I do not know much about Gustave Courbet, he was a proud and arrogant man apparently and commonly did theatrical portraits of himself. He used alot of contrast in the tones of the painting, especially the whites of his shirt and arms against the dark of his hair and scarf. The whites in his eyes against his irises no doubt achieve the same effect: a dramatic, eye-catching effect. Also, he also uses blocks of colours for both white and dark tones (see shirt), this also creates a sudden, abrupt feeling. The lines on his shirt and hands are also quite deep and bold, accentuating intensity and strong emotions. The painting is quite rough in texture, in some places it is smooth, but in many places you can seem noticeable brush strokes, creating a frantic and unpeaceful mood. Also they have used red (specifically a peachy pink) on his cheeks and lips, to draw the viewer in specifically to his face, as this is a portrait. He has used a quite restricted colour palette, the colour in the background is very similar, if almost the same as his skine, probably so that the more bolder and brighter colours, like the red would stand out. The skin and bacground colours, aren't the most attractive either, which may have been intended, this olive greens and yellows created and unrelaxed and conflicts with the red. Overall I can't say I really know what the the artist was trying to say, but what I have stated above, I say that the artist may have been trying to show his stressed, "desperate" and frantic side, it shows his self-conflicts and waging wars inside of himself with the bold and contrasting colours and tones. Sorry I couldn't be much more help! Said all that I could grab from current knowledge of him, which isn't much at all!

I think im a dinosaur?

I like to stomp around maniacally and make roaring noises that always seem to scare off my house guests, and resemble that of an angry dog or a lion. Have you considered that you have a virus on your laptop as a friend had similar problems where everything went haywire and no passwords or keys were accepted and it turned out to be a virus. Everything needed cleaning and reinstalling from scratch. If the laptop is under manufacturers warranty than you need to contact HP support dont even waste your time going to PC World they wont entertain you or will attempt to charge you for the recovery process. Headshot / Resume Advice Needed. Professionals *Only*, Please.?

I've been in the business for a few years now, but it's always been on the other side of the camera. Well, one thing leads to another and after stumbling into a few acting jobs I've been asked by an agency for a headshot and resume. I don't have either of them on hand since I've never pursued acting as a profession, but I'd be insane to pass this up. I haven't worked casting in a couple of years and after doing some research at a very reputable arts school it seems that a lot of people are moving away from the traditional straight-ahead shoulders-up headshot to slightly more "arty" shots that are more composed (for lack of a better word for it.) Can anyone who's actually working point me towards some examples of what a good headshot and resume look like these days? I'd appreciate it.

Is this lucid dreaming ?

I often go into a dream state then wake up but realise I'm not as I can't move, during this time I'm in my own surroundings but I can hear voices or music or see something odd in it. I always try to escape the dream by shaking my head and closing my eyes, even if I am paralysed. I always remember them very clearly. Here are some examples: I was in a normal dream in my school building, it was very foggy and at night time. I remember walking round a corner and thinking please dont let anyone be round that corner and then a giant ghost like man came stomping round the corner following me and I woke up. I was in my own surroundings and couldnt move, I then heard screaming and swearing at me, I tried shaking my head to get out of it and a few minutes later I woke up. A recent one I had was I was in my own surroundings again but I could see my mum standing and staring at me, it was slightly blurry and i couldn't see mum clearly. I even remember one when I was 5! I was in my own surroundings again and this lion toy on my floor grew bigger and turned alive, an Angel then turned it back to original state, I woke up and the lion toy was on the floor. Another one I had was I was in my own surroundings and I could hear creepy noises, I peeked from the covers and saw the grim reaper getting closer and closer as I looked, I then woke up. These are just some examples, I have had plenty more! Are these lucid dreams?

IChat not letting me join multi-person video chats?

my ichat only lets me join single person video chats. whenever i open my network status on the connection doctor it always says the port is restricted and that the computer's network setup includes one or more devices that are not fully compatible with audio and video chatting. It says its because of slow connection, but my internet has always been very high speed and everything else on my computer that uses internet works at just the same speed. the server is slogin.oscar.aol.com, the port is 5190 and require SSL is checked. i have restarted my modem (linksys), restarted my computer (macbook pro, ichat version 5.0.3), and switched the port to 430, but nothing works. what should i do?

Trying to find a buzzing vibrating device...?

This may seem a strange Q but here goes: I am trying to find a device which will vibrate and "buzz" (no not for sexual purposes) but something which I want to do some experiments in consciousness from sleep state. the engine shakes severely and the exeleration is next to none when the car is warmed up, but when i first start it and drive, it drives like a dream..but literaly after 3-4 mins, as soon as the car is warmed up, this dream turns into a night mare and it sputters and barley acceleration unless i really really stomp the pedal,, when rpm are high like 4.5+ its o.k but below that, its really really bad!! and the weird thing is..this ONLY happens when the alternator fuse is plugged in ( battery charging) without the fuse i could drive on forever...well...until the battery dies..please help!!?!?!

Not to long ago I got a original ww2 p08 Luger and near the bottom of the grip it looks like there is a place to attach a butstock and I only know of arty Lugers haveing that avlable to them. IChat not letting me join multi-person video chats?

my ichat only lets me join single person video chats. whenever i open my network status on the connection doctor it always says the port is restricted and that the computer's network setup includes one or more devices that are not fully compatible with audio and video chatting. It says its because of slow connection, but my internet has always been very high speed and everything else on my computer that uses internet works at just the same speed. the server is slogin.oscar.aol.com, the port is 5190 and require SSL is checked. i have restarted my modem (linksys), restarted my computer (macbook pro, ichat version 5.0.3), and switched the port to 430, but nothing works. what should i do?

You see : install_flash_player_osx_intel.dmg The word intel.dmg. Its the wrong flash player. MAC with OSx (Tiger) 10.4 are not Intel chip based computers. You would need to choose the correct flash player from the MAC web site. The same with JAVA, but one you reach a certain point in the updates it is no Longer Supported to newer versions. That is when you have to install a newer version of MAC OSx and the next version is the last for a PCC PowerPC Processor. Today I find a baby bird (I think it's a White-Throated Sparrow) at the corner of a subway staircase, waiting to me an intentional or accidental end. It was away from it's family and I saw it face close encounters with death as careless people nearly stomped it out. My mother rescued it and brought it home. You seem pretty bright. You have quite a few remarkable observations for a 15 year old, and it sounds to me as if your grandpa is just looking at things from experience. (I'm guessing that he is the father of your father, not your mother) Perhaps your dear old pops might have been a bit of a trouble-maker at your age, hence the suspicion of the bags and the overall nosiness. You'll see as time goes on that, sadly, life doesn't always treat people fairly, and that some people, (I am guessing here, too) perhaps your grandfather, carry some resentment of that unfairness for many, many years. That can cause some mannerisms to grow over time to be more than just a bit extreme. I am sorry to hear that your living situation is rough atm, but, and hear me out, if he is concerned that a bright granddaughter of his isn't showing the potential that he suspects she has, he may be concerned with her future, and truly for her own good.
