Would I get jumped if I fly the American flag in public areas in Mexifornia?

oops i mean California? the people there are very pro Mexico, most are probably more loyal to Mexico than the United States, and Ive heard so many stories the past couple years of people getting in trouble at school for having the American flag on a Mexican holiday, Mexicans burning and stomping on the flag while demanding rights, etc. Just a question people. Would I be safe?
