No sound from laptop?

HP Pavilion dv4-1275mx has no sound. I've plugged headphones in and that doesn't give me any sound either. I've checked the drivers for the sound in the device manager and they are fine. Just to make sure I've redownloaded the latest drivers and I get a message saying that the device is working. The computer is not on mute either. I've also gone into the Volume Mixer and everything is turned up, but still no sound. Not really sure what to check now. Thanks for the help!!
